My first written post on Tumblr!

Anyway, I’ve actually been quite busy lately. Amidst the shittiness of the army, in my free time I’ve been helping my boyfriend with the renovation works at his place. Basically a lot of manual labour and planning, suggestions, and running errands from places. That’s not so much different from what I already do in the army, but at least I get to handle designer furniture. This old man really knows how to splurge on stuff like.. lamps. Will definitely post pictures of his place when it’s up and about.

The bigger picture here is definitely the fact that I seem to have a bigger stake in our relationship. However, I suppose that without any form of legal recognition (in black & white) my presence & influence feels merely ephemeral. As it is, our age-difference is already quite the hindrance, but the fact that we’re two flippin’ homosexuals means that in our country, no matter how loving and committed this relationship is, my rights and privileges as his partner (so to speak) aren’t legally recognised. No matter how progressive and inclusive our society has become, or will continue to be, I still feel strongly about the lack of legal rights for people like us.

Sorry to deviate from the original intent of this post, but I felt it was pertinent for raise this point. Otherwise, have a great week ahead everyone.
